I tried writing another nerdy blog, this time about pumpkins. You know, the flavour compounds, the physical structure of the beast, the long and exciting history. Nothing grabbed me. “Pumpkins are related to gourds.” Mmm snore.
When it comes down to it, the most exciting thing about pumpkins is eating them in one form or another. This is the first in a series discussing buying, eating and drinking our favourite autumn cucurbita.
We all know that peaches are amazing. That aroma, that colour, that flavour, that…juice that runs down your arms and makes everything sticky (the lesser quality of the peach, which requires a sink for proper enjoyment.)
This summer, my fiancée and I are tying the knot. And what better place to have our celebration than in Ontario's Greenbelt! We're very happy with our chosen location, for the beauty and bounty of this amazing land mass is making it easy. Many of our guests will be visiting Canada for the first time from Germany and we are excited to show off all that Southern Ontario has to offer -- wide open spaces, rolling hills, a killer lake view and food that is sure to put their knödel to shame.
